JOB SUMMARY
The Machine Shop Production Manager is essential in leading a team of operators and machinists to deliver high-quality products. This role focuses on managing the activities of the machine shop, optimizing efficiency, and ensuring that finished products meet exact specifications. The manager will be responsible for driving continuous improvement efforts and implementing cost-saving strategies, contributing to the success of RAMI's advanced antenna systems.
High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary education preferred.
3-7 years of supervisory experience in a machine shop.
5 years of technical experience with CNC programming, lathes, and mills.
Familiarity with Okuma Lathes, Mills, Nomura Swiss Lathes, and Miyano machines is a plus.
Strong interpersonal, customer service, and professional skills.
Detail-oriented with strong computer skills, including Microsoft applications.
Ability to coordinate and collaborate with other departments to achieve desired results.

Manage and prioritize machine shop activities to meet customer, plant, and management requirements.
Implement and maintain preventive maintenance programs for shop equipment.
Provide regular updates on project timelines to leadership.
Monitor and improve product quality through continuous review and troubleshooting.
Collaborate with other departments to promote teamwork and achieve company goals.
Enforce company policies and implement cost-saving strategies.
Drive improvement efforts in adherence to 5S standards.
Schedule employee hours and shifts, conduct performance reviews, and address disputes.
Respond promptly to emergencies or unexpected issues during the shift.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Lifting up to 25 pounds with no restrictions.
Repetitive motion of arms and shoulders for machine operations.
Frequent changes from sitting to standing positions.
Vision, with or without correction, must be adequate for the required job functions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The majority of work is performed in a manufacturing environment. The noise level can be loud, and personal protective equipment (PPE) is available where required.
